Join us for the inaugural weekend of the reimagined Bury Music Festival, taking place from 12-14 June, 2026.
Embrace the music of Sir William Walton at this culturally enriching event in Bury St Edmunds based at St Edmundsbury Cathedral.
About Bury Music Festival
Bury Music Festival aims to establish a sustainable, artistically ambitious annual event that strengthens the cultural life of the Suffolk region and champions the richness of British musical heritage. It is a joint project between: Bury Bach Choir, St Edmundsbury Cathedral and The Facade Ensemble.
This reimagining of a highly regarded and established classical music festival comes from our Festival Director, Benedict Collins Rice.

Opening drinks reception with a recital of Walton's Facade performed by The Facade Ensemble.

Saturday 13th June
Main Festival Concert, 7:30pm

Coronation Te Deum by William Walton
Crown Imperial March by William Walton
I was Glad and Blest Pair of Sirens by Hubert Parry
Conducted by Festival Director, Benedict Collins Rice
A performance by the combined choirs of
Bury Bach Choir and Bath Bach Choir, Southern Sinfonia and with Roderick Williams OBE as Baritone soloist.

Sunday 14th June
Festival Services
Walton-themed liturgy from St Edmundsbury Cathedral Musicians under Claudia Grinnell (Director of Music).
Music to include Walton's Jubilate, Set me as a seal, and Orb and Sceptre march.
9.30am Choral Mattins
10.30am All-Age Eucharist
3.30pm Choral Evensong
